In our wonderful country, any citizen can walk into the Secretary of State’s office, fill out a form, pay a fee and become a candidate.
Yesterday I filed to run for the Minnesota House of Representatives. The paperwork was simple and the fee was reasonable.
The clerk was helpful, while taking care to avoid giving advice. No favoritism must be shown. All candidates receive the same treatment and follow the same rules.
I left the office confident that my name will appear on the ballot and that I’ll be free to publicize my positions without fear of reprisal.
I’ll use this campaign to champion the principles that preserve our freedom to govern ourselves. If elected, I will honor my oath to support the constitutions of the State of Minnesota and the United States of America.
