There are few people with a clearer view of what the US Government debt means than someone whose job is to plan 20, 30, or 40 years in the future.
This article from the Wall Street Journal, of such a money manager is a fresh and engaging story of someone calling out the politicians – and the voters – for their misbehavior. This time the speaker is someone with no apparent political axe to grind.
The US government debt will be the issue over the next 30 years. If we don’t address it, it will do far more damage than we can imagine. Much more than our “credit rating” is at stake.
Do we have what it takes to deal with it honestly, without pushing it off on our children and grandchildren? If we do try to push it on our progeny, will they tolerate it?
I don’t necessarily agree with everything Mr. Druckenmiller says, but I recommend the article. Enjoy.
